Restricted from Kukerin S to Kojonup and Broomehill, south-western W.A.
Subshrub to 0.4 m high. Branchlets puberulous to hirsutellous. Pinnae 2 pairs, 2-4 mm long (proximal pinnae), 5-10 mm long (distal pinnae); petiole 0.5-1 mm long; rachis 1-3 mm long; pinnules 2 or 3 pairs (proximal pinnae), 4-7 pairs (distal pinnae), ±oblong, 2-4 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, obtuse, slightly thickened, grey-green, finely puberulous with straight to incurved and ±antrorse hairs; gland on rachis at base of pinnae, sessile. Inflorescences simple, 1 per axil; peduncles 10-20 mm long, glabrous; heads globular, 16-26-flowered, seemingly golden. Flowers 5‑merous; sepals 5/6-united; petals 1-nerved. Pods 2-4 cm long, 5 mm wide, pilose. Seeds transverse to oblique, oblong to elliptic, 2.5-3 mm long.
Grows in gravelly loam.
W.A.: c. 13 km SE of Broomehill towards Pallinup, B.R.Maslin 646 (AD, B, BH, BRI, CANB, K, MEL, NSW, PERTH).
Closely related to A. browniana, but distinguished by its flat, grey-green, concolorous pinnules which are finely puberulous on both surfaces. Acacia grisea occurs further inland than does A. browniana.
