Occurs from near Bindi Bindi S to near Ongerup, E to Hyden, W.A.
Shrub commonly 0.4-0.8 m high, low, spreading. Branchlets sericeous between red-brown or yellow-brown resin-ribs at extremities. Phyllodes shallowly to strongly incurved (sometimes into a complete circle), terete, (2.5-) 3-6 (-7) cm long, 0.5-1.3 mm diam., grey-green to subglaucous, resinous; nerves 8, broad, ±flat-topped, not or scarcely raised, with ±appressed-hairs in the shallow narrow furrows between. Inflorescences simple, normally 2 per axil; heads ±sessile and globular, 4-5 mm diam., 10-22-flowered, golden. Flowers 4‑merous; sepals 2/3-3/4-united. Pods linear, slightly raised over and slightly constricted between seeds, straight to shallowly curved, to 6 cm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, thinly coriaceous, minutely appressed-puberulous on lateral faces, resinous; margins wide. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic, 2-2.5 mm long, glossy, mottled; aril conical, ±as long as seed.
Grows in sand, sandy loam and loam, in mallee open scrub and occasionally in open heath.
W.A.: 7.5 km S of Great Northern Hwy at Bindi Bindi, R.Cumming 3593 (PERTH); 7 km S of Kulin towards Kukerin, B.R.Maslin 4376 (PERTH); c. 2 km due W of Camel Peaks, B.R.Maslin 5770 (BRI, G, PERTH); 20 km NW of Ongerup, N.Stevens KRN9492-1 (MELU, PERTH).
Very closely related to A. cracentis which is distinguished by its straighter, more slender phyllodes with normally single heads within their axils. Also related to A. aprica.
