Antenna without pecten, forewing radial and medial veins usually free from discal cell; hindwing with Sc+R free, 1A, 2A and 3A usually present forming three well defined veins; abdominal segments 2 and 7 have lateral protuberances which emit a defensive smell (Common 1990, Kristensen 1999).
